How I can Improve this plot so that it look more aesthetic ?

Secondly, the resulotion of plot is not so good, and when I export this plot as jpeg file, quality of resolution deteriotate even more, I mean pixel tear out on zooming the image. How I fix this issue which I guess might be due to wrong way of exporting plot ?





I got two problems creating a 3d-plot. First, as the title mentions, I want to cut out a distinct interval from my 3d-Plot.

For example when the graph is displayd from -y_max to y_max but I just want it to be shown from -y_max to -5 and from 5 to y_max again.

I also got a second question:

Another thing I want to do with this graph is redefining this axis with a parameter which is directly dependant from it.

I would like to find a way to make the reflection of a spherical wave inside a tube (a cylinder). You have herafter an exemple of a sphere increasing inside a tube, but without the reflections...

I am generating a sphere with increasing radius that interacts at some point with a plan, just like this:

I would like to find a way to make the sphere "wave" (I agree this is not a wave...) reflected by the plan as in a mirror.

Is there an elegant way to plot in 3d only the portion of the function f(x,y)=sqrt(25-x^2-y^2) for which 9 <= x^2+y^2 <= 16 ? I'm looking for a nice plot that shows it against the whole sphere with radius 5, so that it's clear which part of the sphere is cut out.

Hi all,

I have a 3D graph and when I right click on the surface, under style, I can see the option of contour. When I click on that I can see some contour associated with the surface. I want maple to show the values for each contour when I observe it from the top . I want to copy and paste some surfaces in a same figure and campare the contours.

I try to draw together point (0,0,12) and the line  x=4t, y=-2t, z=2t on one graph 3D. Somebody has some pointers? Thank you 

A quick question, Can I add legends to 3D plots? 


I have studied most posts about plot quality, still confused.


When I export 2d graphs and import the to microsoft word, the quality is horrible. How can I presents my results in a reseanably good way? 

what command should I add to my code that the quality increase notoceably? 

Any suggestion about 3d plots? 

If I export as an eps file, how can I import that in microsoft word? I did, but I guess they are not compatibble.

How can I make maple to write the values of each contour plot on the graph?

I have a 3d graph and want to have a contour plot in which each line have the associated value on it. I know I can use legends and input the values for each line by hand but I dont know those values. I just need maple to calculate the values and write them on the contour plot.

I am trying to plot 3d scattered data as a 2d scatterplot with the third dimension being displayed as colour or a line that separates the value of the two functions (for example, the higher value and lower value at that point). I attached the file. I have two functions and several parameters that are constant. Here, I want to use P[A] on the x-axis, and P[B] on the y-axis. The z dimension is the profit functions, either Profit[1] or Profit [2]. I want to show them in colors like the highest one is red and the lower one is green, or something similar.  P[A] and P[B] are probability values and P[B] is between 0 to 0.50 with 0.01 increments, while P[A] is always less than P[B]. The file is here:


P[A] := 0 ..P[B]-0.01

P[B] := 0 ..0.50

Suppose that we have the following curve on a unit sphere




which is the implicit equation of a circle in "cylindrical coorinates" (r,phi,z) on the sphere.

How can I plot this curve without solving the implicit equation for r or z ?

Also, I don't want to make any parameterization.
