Hi everyone,

I am trying to copy a 178x2 matrix into maple. the data is in a .dat file in two columns. For example the first few lines:

+2.000000E-10 +1.636232E-05

+3.017707E-05 +4.531920E-05

+6.065973E-05 +7.586885E-05

+9.096636E-05 +1.059570E-04

+1.208671E-04 +1.357189E-04

I was having trouble importing an excel sheet

Error, (in ExcelTools:-Import) There was an error reading the Excel file

The excel sheet only had one tab visible named test1a.tabs

However it loaded fine without the range and sheetname specified

and it loaded fine using the sheet name as a number

I was wondering if anyone else experienced this or if I was doing something wrong someone could point out.

I would like to import the code from Pg 90 on in the following document into Maple. Any suggestions for doing so with minimal editing required after pasting?

Hey there!

I uploaded a solid drawing from a CAD software (like solidworks, inventor, stl files, etc) into Maple using plottools:-importplot("drawing.stl").

Also, I know Maple can give me the normal vector (and point of intersection) using line and intersection commands, for example.

Now, is it possible to find a point of intersection (and the normal vector at that point) of a line that crosses the uploaded CAD solid?

I guess that to accomplish that, it would be necessary to somehow "map" the solid and that's the part that I am lost.

Many thanks!

I've got an excel file and a maple file saved in the same folder and am trying to import the contents of the excel file using  the Exceltools[Import]("name of file.extension") command as given in the manual but it doesn't seem to work. I've also tried copying the entire path of the file in the argument but that doesn't seem to work either. What am I doing incorrectly?

is there a way I can use data (variables) from Maple environment in the Maplesim environment.

I have a scirpt in maple that generates the robots joints angles and need to use them in the 3D robot built in maplesim. I know I can export/Import data, but this sounds redundant. Is there a way to simply use an input block as a source of the data in maplesim and have the variable name generated in maple used int. Similar to what Matlab/Simulink does..

I'm importing a STL geometry with plottools[importplot].

The result is a PLOT3D data structure. Applying "op" to the structure reveals that it is formed by POLYGONS structures.

How can I import the same STL geometry, and, instead of getting a POLYGONS structure, getting a POINTS structure?

I think it should be direct for Maple, because in the plot view configs one can select the style to be surface, contour and even point.

If the conversion has to be by hand, does someone know a not too painful method? For me it's being painful, as I'm trying a solution all the day.

Here´s the problem:

I´m ussing the command readdata to import a large ammount of data from a .txt file. So far, so good.

The problem is when I have to switch computers from home to office and I need to work with my .mw file. Every time I do the switching between the computers I have to replace all the directory information for maple to read the .txt file in the new location.

Is there any way to tell maple to look for the file in a relative way instead of a absolute direction in the hard drive?

I know this is maybe a beginners question, but thanks in advance.

I have some lengthy formulas in the maple. I don't want to waste time on rewritting them in a word document.
Is there a way to import those equations in a clean and tidy form to a word document or the mathtype program or something else! :)

My question is very similar to this question however my .txt files are in a different format.

I've generated a .txt file with Macaulay2 that looks like this

| -1 0 9  -17 4   |

| 1  2 -3 7    17 |

I would like to import this file into maple and define a matrix M as this matrix. Is there any way to accomplish this?

I tried to import the modelica library Buildings1.6 from the modelica website and get always the error "Nothing found in the modelica library".

Is it possible to import modelica libraries?

Thank you very much

I have a table of data arranged in the following columns: Year, Jan, Feb, Mar,..,Dec in Excel or csv

I would like to import this data into a time series in Maple so I can plot the result.

What is the simplest way of doing this?

It's been a while since I touched Maple. Just picked it up again to do some stat work, and I'm feeling a bit out of my element having been to accustomed to things like Matl.... (I mean the software that shall not be named).

Is there a way to convert a single array/matrix into multiple arrays?

1 1
2 7
3 8
4 9
5 10
6 14
7 20

It's easy just to copy and past this as a single element within a worksheet. However, I want to get it so that it's formated like data = [[1,1],[2,7],[3,8],etc...]

Is there a way to reformat into individual elements once everything is in one large array? I'm basically copy and pasting a huge mess of cells from Excel and am looking to see if there's a simplier solution than manual data entry.

hi all

I want to plot a 2D fig by maple. my data are in an excel file and they are too much to import them one by one manually. When I copy and paste them in maple, they appear in a column...

thank a lot for your help.
