I have tried to do it by the following command "File/Modelica/Import Modelica Library" in MapleSim GUI. An error appears saying "Modelica is a reserved name".

I think you can also reproduce it by downloading the Modelica library from the following web site: "". And then importing it in the usual way by openning the file at the root directory.

I think I am missing something here, so any advise/information/minimal commentary would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Ovle

I get an error when I try to create a modelica block including a piecewise function with one of its expressions including csgn function.

similarly when I use the piecewise And for its conditions.

are these not supported in Modelica?

Dear MapleSoft,

Would it be possible you once design a MapleSim webinar for users with more emphasis on Modelica (language, examples, etc.), on how to build more complex custom components, not just a simple DC motor? I think this would be very useful and could extend / enhance the use of MapleSime even more.

Tx in advance,

best regards

MapleSim 2016 is here!

MapleSim 2016 provides variety of improvements to streamline the user experience, expand modeling scope, and enhance connectivity with other tools. Here are some highlights:

  • Collapsible task panes provide a larger model workspace, so you can see more of your model at once.
  • Improved layout ensures the tools you need for your current task are available at your fingertips.
  • The expanded Multibody component library now supports contact modeling.
  • A new add-on library, the MapleSim Pneumatics Library from Modelon, supports the modeling and simulation of pneumatic systems.
  • The MapleSim CAD Toolbox has been extended to support the latest versions of Inventor®, NX®, SOLIDWORKS®, CATIA® V5, Solid Edge®, PTC® Creo Parametric™, and more.
  • The MapleSim Connector, which provides connectivity to Simulink®, now supports single precision export of S-functions so you can run your MapleSim models on hardware that only supports single precision.

See What’s New in MapleSim 2016 for more information about these and other improvements.

In MapleSim environment, I can see these code, but I find that I cannot edit them.

Is there a method that I can edit these codes?

Thank you.

i have some problem when iuse the digital libray with the delay components:

i have this error: delay variable not found in dependent variable list, [`Main.TransportDelay1.x`(T)]

it seems that the delay function in the modelica language is not well treated in MapleSim . At this level:

    y = if 0 < delayTime then if delayTime <= time then x_delayed else y0 else pre(x);
    x_delayed = integer(delay(x, delayTime));
end Modelica.Electrical.Digital.Delay.TransportDelay;

Thank you for your help.

Hi! I'm trying to use MapleSim 7 to simulate some very simple physical situations, however after great many hours spent at this, I'm still unable to convince MapleSim to load and run even the simplest Modelica models, like:

model Main
  Modelica.Mechanics.MultiBody.Parts.Body o(r_CM = zeros(3));
  inner .Modelica.Mechanics.MultiBody.World world;
  o.frame_b.f = {0,-9.8,0};
end Main;

It will report that o and world are "unknowns" and apparently does not recongize Modelica.Mechanics.MultiBody.Parts.Body nor Modelica.Mechanics.MultiBody.World. Do I need to do some extra steps to import extra libraries or enable some non-default components?  I went through various YouTube and other tutorials and didn't find a mention of anything.

When I look at some examples, often they refer to things like Maplesoft.Multibody.World - but these are proprietary Maple packages, and I need my code to use standard Modelica. Does this mean that MapleSim cannot run generic Modelica code like this?

I also tried running e.g. and some other examples, with absolutely no success either. I'm quite confused because MapleSim has a lot of advertising about Modelica support... :-(

I am trying to plot only the real part of the values obtained from the MapleSim model.  Probably there is a Modelica function to get only the real part of the values, but I am unable to find it. Could you please have a look at the code and let me know what I should do to solve this problem?

The code is: (I want to plot the real part of R2)

model IKTest

parameter Boolean switched = false;
parameter Modelica.SIunits.Length L1 = 0.100;
parameter Modelica.SIunits.Length L2 = 0.102;
parameter Modelica.SIunits.Length L3 = 0.5;
//parameter Real c; //Complex number
//parameter c;

Modelica.Blocks.Interfaces.RealInput u[3]
annotation (Placement(transformation(extent={{-140,-20},{-100,20}},rotation=0)));
Modelica.Blocks.Interfaces.RealOutput y[3]
annotation (Placement(transformation(extent={{90,-10},{110,10}},rotation=0)));

Real Tx = u[1];
Real Ty = u[2];
Real Tz = u[3];
Real R1 = y[1];
Real R2 = y[2];
Real R3 = y[3];

annotation (uses(Modelica(version = "3.1")));
end IKTest;

I tried to import the modelica library Buildings1.6 from the modelica website and get always the error "Nothing found in the modelica library".

Is it possible to import modelica libraries?

Thank you very much

Does MapleSim 6 cover temperature dependent fluid media? In the modelica standard library (MSL), there is for example a medium model for T-dependent properties, defined by tables or polynomials (Modelica.Media.Incompressible).

Is it included in MapleSim 6 or can be somehow modelled?

Is MapleSim 6.1 fully Modelica 3.1 compliant? If not, which features does it miss for the moment?

Lookup tables? (modelica ones, not maplesim's)

Thank you very much

Hi there!

Is there a way to implement a fixed delay (not the Padé approximation)? I'm using MapleSim 5.

I tried importing the Modelica's fixed delay block, but it seems that MapleSim doesn't support the implementation...

Hi people!

Why there is not a "Modelica.Mechanics.MultiBody.Joints.RollingWheel" (different from 1-D mechanics rolling wheel) in MapleSim 5? It is previewed in the Modelica language and SystemModeler has this implementation.

Is there a way to import the model o this joint from somewhere? If not, how could I model this non-holonimic constraint in MapleSim?

How can we re-initialize a multi-body system, for example a three link pendulum, based on measurements obtained from various sensors? Can we generate a modelica custom component which has inputs from various sensors and the output is the re-initialized states for the multi-body system?

Thanks for your help....

I have a system consisting of a multi-body system and various modelica/maple custom components. The problem is whenever I re-run the simulation even though all the simulation settings are same, the simulation results are inconsistent. There should be no difference between each simulation as all the parameters/settings are same. I am attaching two pictures which are both obtained from two successive simulations
