I have a document containing notes from my past semester, which will not open properly. When i try to open up the document maple asks if i want to retrieve the content as plain text, 2D-math or maple input. The document is written in document mode and contains both text and 2D math. When I try to open it in plain text, maple gives me nothing, and with the two other options, maple is just loading forever. Can anybody help me retrieve the content og fix the document?

I am teaching math i high school and we are using Maple.

A lot of times the students forget to save their work. This is a problem if it is during a test, and the computer runs into problems.

The problem is that their document is called Untitled and i have a problem finding the file.

The file that Maple usually creates is MAS.BAK file, but when they forget to save, I can't seem to find anything.

The problem occurs in both MAC computers as well as PC.

Can anyone help.

"There were problems during the loading process. Your worksheet may be incomplete."

I have seen threads where this has been solved, but i do not know how to do it.

It happened to both files, after restarting my computer.

Are anyone willing to help me?

I use Maple worksheet mode (not document mode). When I have a long line of code, or when I display some Maple source code, and if the line do not fit the current window size, the line will wrap to the next line, and make it hard to read the code.

Is there a way to configure the setting do that Maple keeps long line on same line and then I can use the horizontal scroll bar if I want to see the full line. This way the code is easier to read for me.

I looked at OPTIONS->DISPLAY and no see no such option. I also looked at few other options.

Here is a screen shot of what  I mean. Line 165 is too long and it wraps for example

A number of MaplePrimers have asked how one might use the section and subsections of a Maple worksheet to structure the source code of an extended Maple package.  The usual answer is that it cannot be done; a module-based Maple package must be assigned in a single input region in a worksheet.  A recommended alternative is to write the source in text files and use either command line tools or the Maple read command from a worksheet to assign the package.  Because the read command handles Maple preprocessor macros, specifically the $include macro, the source can be conveniently split into smaller files.

I prefer this file-based method for development because text files are generally more robust than Maple worksheets, can be edited with the user's preferred editor, can be put under version control, and can be searched and modified by standard Unix-based tools.  However, not everyone is familiar with this method of development.  With that in mind, I wrote a small Maple package, CodeBuilder, that permits splitting the source of a Maple package (or any Maple code) into separate code edit regions in a standard Maple worksheet, using $include macros to include the source of other regions.  To build the package, the code edit regions are written to external files, using the names of the regions as the local file name relative to a temporary directory.

The package includes a method to run mint on the source code.  The result can be either printed in the worksheet or displayed in a pop-up maplet that allows selecting the infolevel and the region to check.

CodeBuilder includes help pages and a simple example (referenced from the top-level help page) demonstrating the usage.  To install the package, unzip the attached zip file and follow the directions in the README file.

Errata Just noticed that a last minute change broke some of the code.  Do not bother with the 1-0-1 version; I'll upload a new version shortly.  The latest version (1-0-3) is now available.

Hi everybody,

I am working with Maple 2015.2 ; system = OS X El Capitan
I would like to compare the outputs of two files by using  the Worksheet:-Comparator command

OriginalFile.mw file contains this single instruction
> a:=1;

ModifiedFile.mw contains this single instruction
> a := 2;

Both us are located on my desktop, which is also my current directory in the worksheet from which I am going to run the comparison.

MyDir := cat(currentdir(), "/Desktop/");
OriginalFile := cat(MyDir, "OriginalFile.mw"):
ModifiedFile := cat(MyDir, "ModifiedFile.mw"):

# to verify that all is going well I use these two commands
# Worksheet:-DisplayFile(OriginalFile):
# Worksheet:-DisplayFile(ModifiedFile):

Running the  command  Worksheet:-Comparator(OriginalFile, ModifiedFile) returns me error messages :
The first one is  (after having selected  "compare" and next "run" in the Comparator Maplet)

and the second one (after having cliked ont the "OK" button" on this alert window)

Note that the same thing happens if I use Worksheet:-Comparator() and select the two files with the browsers
Could you please help me to understand what happens ?

Thanks in advance

If I go to the menu under file and open.  Or similarily CRTL-o opens the file query dialog box.

Can I do this crtl-o programmatically?

How would I programmatically open a maple worksheet?

I thought this would work but it brought up a -1

Dear all

My son is studying at the Danish University, DTU, where he studies engineering. He is experiencing a problem with maple as the system writes :"There were problems during the loading process. Your worksheet may be incomplete". I can see that other people have had  their file corrected by a script by Joe Riel 6845.I just want to make sure that the right way to use this script is to open .mw file in an texteditor like notepad++ and then copy the script in top of the file and then save the file again and open it in maple ? I would appreciate your help very much. As it looks now,  my son has lost his entire work, if this error cant be corrected.

Best regards

What method of worksheet dissemination maximizes the number of recipients and methods of access?

Our students do have access to Maple on campus. However some students beyond our campus do not. Hence I'm trying maximize the number of recipients. This means that the recipient can accesses my worksheet either via tradition computer OSs such as Mac, Linux, Windows, or via tablet / personal computer OSs: iOS or Android.

For a static worksheet, I've found PDF is the obvious choice. However, I'm writing more modifiable worksheets. The most obvious options I see are:

* MaplePlayer
* MapleCloud
* Maple WWW, by DigiArea Team

In investigating the options, I have found that:
* Maple Player is useful to those who have no access to Maple, but there appears to be no Android/iOS version of it.
* MapleCloud looks very promising since all OSs read the web, but there appears to be no way a person can join a private group via the MapleCloud website. Am I missing or misreading the help?
* Maple WWW, while pretty, appears to be painfully slow on a tablet (at least the examples I looked at).

Thus the initial purpose of this post is to answer the questions I raise, which I view as far more strategic, with more nuances than most questions that appear on this forum. And the second purpose is to initiate more discussion among the users year, particularly from the educational community, about guiding the direction of Maple.

I look forward to your comments and suggestions.

I cannot seem to upload my .mw file.  What is going on with the this new MAPLEPrimes?  I need some help getting my file uploaded.  What other avenue is available?

Hey, this is not the I've had this encounter. I want to open this saved document but when I open it and Maple starts up it just hits me with "A problem was encountered while opening the workbook. Database is not opened". How can I get to open it properly and see my math notes?

How can this be prevented?

When I try to upload the file in this message it says "Cant open a null file"

Any help?

Hi

I have a maple file (saved as a workbook) which is saved in dropbox and has been saved during progress.  However, when I open the last version in maple, it opens a version which looks like it is some of the first versions. I have tried following things without success:

* Restore previous versions from dropbox and open them in maple.  No matter which version I open, it shows the same two lines of text.  In dropbox I can see all previous versions and their file size which all are different and increasing in size over time as more was added to the file.

* send the file to another computer and open in maple on that computer

Does anybody have the answer to what I can do/what the problem is?

Thanks!

/Katie

I need help i worked hard on this work but Maple just won´t open my work!!
