How to convert complex number to polar form with n...

Below z is made using different complex values on polar form, and I then need to express the resulting z on polar form with numeric values for length and angle. However, I had no luck using evalc, evalf, or other I could find.

How can I convert z to a polar form with numeric arguments like shown below ?

Complex numbers in Maple T.A....

Is it possible to work with complex numbers in Maple T.A?

How could you for instance make a question where two complex numbers in polar form should be added. For instance (10<30deg)+(15<-10deg). I'm thinking of letting answers be in two fields, one for the absolute value and one for the angle but I would like to use random numbers in the two complex numbers to be added and would prefer to be able to use complex math in calculating the right answer.

How to make odeplot in polar coords?...

hi guys,

i have a first order differential equation and i want to plot it with odeplot in polar coordinates .

electrical circuit calculations with polar coordin...

Below is a calculation with 200 Volt and 100 Ω.
The output is 1 Ampere at -45 degrees.
This is useful for electrical circuit calculations, and I can get the right result on a TI-nspire.

However I can't make maple 2015 do it. It's resembling polar coordinates but I can't seem to find any info I can understand.

"((200∠0°))/((100∠45°)+(100∠45°))=\

1∠-45°"

below is the same equation but in a picture so it can be read by humans:

Hopefully theres some simple comands that can help make this easy.

Thanks

Surface/volume of revolution in polar coords...

Systematizing calculations...

I need to make a lot of similar calculations and wonder if it can be done in a smart way in Maple. Microsoft Excel is perfect for this kind of calculations, because you can downcopy cells. I would like to do everything in Maple, if possible, though. I have a number of points A, B, C, D, E, ... , which all lie on various circles in the plane. For every point radius and angle is given, so actually you can say that every point is delivered with polar coordinates. I want to have their rectangular coordinates.

Maybe I could deliver their radii in a list and their angles in degrees in another list?

r:=[12,56,29,...., 78]:

v:=[15,45,75,..., 102]:

......

I need to be able to refer to a certain point thorugh an index. At best it would be A, B, C, ... , but 1, 2, 3, ... will be acceptable. So in the end I need to be able to access say x_C and y_C or x_3 and y_3 (understood as index lowered). I hope someone can help me do the task in a nice a efefctive way.

NB! Maybe you have a solution, which involve transformation from polar to rectangular coordinates. That will be nice, but please also tell me how it can be done from scratch, because I want to be able to know about handling many points at once for other purposes, when the function is not r*cos(v), but an arbitrary function.

Erik

How can we plot the equation$r=1/theta$ in polar c...

Hi there,

How can I plot the equation $r=1/theta$ in polar plot in maple13? and in general for plotting $r=1/(theta-alpha)$ alpha is constant.?

Any help will be appreciated.

Analytical solution of 2D diffusion equation in po...

Hello,

I have been trying to compute the analytical solution of two dimensional diffusion equation with zero neumann boundary conditions (no-flux) in polar coordinates using the solution in Andrei Polyanin's book. When I use 2d Gaussian function as initial condition, i cannot get the result. If I use some nicer function like f(r,phi)=1-r; there is no problem.

Any idea why this happens? or any suggestion to compute the analytical solution?

Thanks!

Polar plot of wavefunction...

Hello , Happy weekend ... I need a help on plot of a wavefunction give below , i have made the plot using plot3d in cylindrical coordinate. But what i need now is the Polar plot of it. And it always comes with the code ensure calling sequence is correct.

psi(r,phi):= C[0, .1]*BesselI(4, 2*lambda*exp((1/2*I)*phi))*BesselJ(2, 1/r)+C[1, .1]*BesselI(6, 2*lambda*exp((1/2*I)*phi))*BesselJ(3, 1/r)+ C[2, .1]*BesselI(8, 2*lambda*exp((1/2*I)*phi))*BesselJ(4, 1/r)+ C[3, .1]*BesselI(10, 2*lambda*exp((1/2*I)*phi))*BesselJ(5, 1/r)+ C[4, .1]*BesselI(12,2*lambda*exp((1/2*I)*phi))*BesselJ(6, 1/r)+ C[5, .1]*BesselI(14, 2*lambda*exp((1/2*I)*phi))*BesselJ(7, 1/r)+C[6, .1]*BesselI(16, 2*lambda*exp((1/2*I)*phi))*BesselJ(8, 1/r)+ C[7, .1]*BesselI(18, 2*lambda*exp((1/2*I)*phi))*BesselJ(9, 1/r);

C[0, .1]:= 2.222222222*10^11; C[1, .1]:=8.333333333*10^18 ; C[2, .1]:=6.250000000*10^26 ; C[3, .1]:= 2.127659574*10^32; C[4, .1]:= 3.125000000*10^43 ; C[5, .1]:=1.639344262*10^52 ; C[6, .1]:=1.408450704*10^61; C[7, .1]:=1.886792453*10^70;

My 1st case:
lambda:=0.1; plot3d(abs(psi(r,phi))^2,phi=0..2*Pi,r=0..5, coords=cylindrical);

2nd case: What i want.

lambda:=0.1; plot(abs(psi(r,phi))^2,r=-0..5, phi= 0..2*Pi, coords = polar);

Animate Polar Area Being Filled as Curve is Being ...

I am using the following commands to create an animation of a simple cardioid being traced out. I would like to add to this an animation of the filling of the region bounded by the curve and the coordinate axes as the curve is being traced out. How might one achieve this?

with(plots):

animatecurve([2-2*sin(theta),theta,theta=0.. 2*Pi],coords=polar,axiscoordinates=polar,frames=250, numpoints=300, scaling=constrained)

Thanks.

Implicit plotting and polarplotting...

Hello there,

I have some troubles with plotting implicit functions , aswell with plotting polar ones.

When I ask the plot of my function it's not ''smooth'' , it has edgdes everywhere that aren't suposed to be there (I think).

These are 2 examples:

K:=x^2*(x^2+y^2)=a^2*y^2;a:=1;
implicitplot(K,x=-2..3,y=-6..6,colour=red);

K:=(x^2+y^2)^3=a^3*x*(x^2*3*y^2);

implicitplot(K,x=-6..6,y=-6..6,colour=red);

Can somebody help me out on how to draw them smoothly?

Maybe I have to change settings?

Thanks alot!

Thanks

Polar representations of a curve using maple...

How would I find the polar representation of, say, (x^2+y^2)^2=x^2-y^2 using maple? Thanks.

How do I plot this function with polar coordinates...

I've been having trouble plotting in polar coordinates. My code is included below:

The ouput prints the 10 terms of the sum but the plot does not produce anything.

I also would like to know a method that I could use to plot with a going from zero to the size of the radius.

Thank you for any help.

Graphing Area in Polar...

I am very new to Maple. I learned how to graph polar coordinates. The next thing I want to learn how is to highlight the area (not to calculate, but to show) between two polar graphs. Can you tell me what is the code for it? This is my set up:

with(plots);

polarplot([2+cos(x), 2], x = 0 .. 2*Pi, color = [red, blue]);

Thanks.

Polar plots for two differential equations...

Hi,

I have two differential equations describing a solar sail in 2D.

One is my radial direction and one is the tangential direction.

I have plotted r(t) and theta(t) but I want r(theta) so I have assigned my two differential equations and initial conditions, have my two plots for r and theta in terms of t and then I have used the following command to plot in polar coordinates:
