I am computing some finite points in the plane. Then I'm using point style plot to plot them. My points have order and I want to conncet the i-th point to the (i+1)-th point with a line segment. I searched the help but I didn't figure out how to do it. Is it possible to do this in Maple?

I am having hard time understading how a style sheet works with Maple. I am trying to use the "document mode" and would like to change the font used for math.

The first question I have is: How does one determine which style sheet is being used for the current open document?

Second: I have followed instructions on how to make a custom style sheet, as shown here: and saved the style sheet on some location on my PC.

But it seems to have no effect at all. Since when I load it again using Format->Manage style sheet->User defined style set, then using the Browse... and select the file which I created using above instructions, I notice that fonts remain the same. I also close Maple and start again, and select again, but when I start typing in document mode, the font is still italic, even though in the XML I see it says  talic="false" (when I open the file in text editor):

<Font name="2D Math" background="[255,255,255]" bold="false" executable="true" family="Times New Roman" foreground="[0,0,0]" italic="false" opaque="false" readonly="false" size="12" subscript="false" superscript="false" underline="false" placeholder="false"/>

I even tried editing the style sheet I think Maple is using, by hand (it is an XML, and modified the font to be not italic) and reloaded it, and no effect. I even added invalid entries in there, and invalid font names, just to see the effect, and nothing happens, no error or anything. It is as if Maple does not even read the style sheet I just saved.

All what I want to do it to make the math 2D input, be _not_ italic font. I spend one hr on this, and nothing seems to make any difference, Maple insist on using italic for math input when in document mode.

Why is it that the style sheet says talic="false" for 2D math, but when I start to type, it types as italic?

As you can see, when I type, it switch to italic, even though the style sheet I just set, it clearly saying italic=false. There is not one single italic=true in the whole XML file. Why is Maple insisting on using italic?

I am using Maple 2016 on windows.

I would like the C-Text style in 14pt Times Roman while the C-2D-Math style is 12pt.

My use case is that I am typing in a single execution block.

I use Format >> Styles and select the style for C-Text and set it to 14pt Times. I click OK to close the dialog. Next I repeat this for the C-2D-Math style but this time set the font size to 12pt and, for testing, the colour to blue. The effect is to give me 14pt Times for both styles, though the C-text is black and the 2-D-Math is blue.

Can the effect I want be achieved, or is this a bug/feature?

This is Maple 2016.1 on Windows 10 64bit

 Thanks for any help

I created a regular 2D without specifying the number of points. I tried to change its style from "line" to "point", but i cannot see the symbols because there are too many points and so all i see is a thick black line. Is replotting with less points the only way, or can I interactively reduce the number of points?

Is there a way to permanent change the color of the output in maple?

there are two style to write on the worksheet mode (Text and Math)

I prefer the  writing  on  (text mode ) by pressing (f5) , but my  problem is when I press Enter to pass  to a new line on my page which has (test style). the style of page changes to (math).

my question is How can I fix a style of the worksheet page?

How to change the font style, globally, the inputs and outputs of computations in Maple 2015? That is, every time a new document is started, the chosen style is automatically applied.

I've seen a few maple presentations where a block of code is wrapped in a box. Does anyone know how this is done?

For learning, I was trying to implement this in Maple. Given this matrix

m:=<<"foobar"   | 77>,
         <"faabar"   | 81>,
         <"foobaa"  | 22>,
         <"faabaa"  | 8>,
         <"faabian"  |88>,
         <"foobar"  | 27>,
         <"fiijii"      | 52>>;

And list of keys

The idea to find the entries (in first column) which starts with the keys, and sum the corresponding numerical value in the second column. The result will be

r:= <<"foo"|126>,

I tried using select, but select, once something is found, does not allow one to do anything more, so it is not very useful. For example  select[flatten](x->x[1..3]="foo",m);  just returns the fields in first column.

I can extract rows I want like this

Not very useful, but at least I got the parts I want, but still need to process these again.

I could write a loop to do the whole thing, but I am trying to avoid this.

What would be the correct Maple way to do this? I think there might be a command in some package that will do this in one or 2 lines only.

Dear friends!

My question does not concern essential functioning of Maple and does not influence on any computation performance. But I ask you to pay attantion to it.

For a long time ago I noticed, that representation of some elements of Maple worksheets does not correspond to settings. For example, I would like to have 2D Ouput style in bold font, which I used in Classic interface in the years of my youth. I adjusted this style as needed:

Nevertheless, output font has a normal (no-bold) style:

Is it possible to fix the problem?

AoA... I want to plot the following functions

in one coordinate having the line style and legend like attached file.

I would like to know how to generate super/subscript characters in axis label. I have tried the double underscore (atomic variable style) and the super/subscript under "Format" in document mode but no luck at all. Any comment/suggestion is truly appreciated.

In Maple help, there are many examples, which shows the input and output in 2D. I like to see the input in 1D (since I use worksheet style, I prefer to use input in 1D, but keep output as 2D).

So it is easier for me to see the input part of the command in the help pages as 1D, since it will match what I will type.

Is there a way to change this? I searched settings and googles and see nothing yet. I am using 17.02 on windows.

when i copy my results in excell or notepad, they are in the following format

Hi, i'm trying to write the following, it works and is giving me the answer i want. But is there a way where i can write it in a simple manner? Please advice. Thanks.
