I work in Maplesoft’s Applications group. This group is a hub between Sales/Marketing and R&D. I primarily work with customers to help them use our software for their projects.

Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, I spent a substantial chunk of my life there. I attended the University of Windsor to study Engineering and Math, and moved to Waterloo to start working with Maplesoft.

My first introduction to Maple was in a differential equations class. Our professor swore by it every day, and felt obliged to show us examples on how to use it at the end of every class. Admittedly, I usually skipped out of class right around that point. It wasn’t until I sat down and used the software to do my homework that I truly realized how useful Maple was…I only wish I had heeded my professor’s advice in the first month of the semester instead of the last.

I haven't done much translating back and forth with Maple and Matlab, but you might using FromMFile.

The calling sequence (for PC's) is just Ctrl + L.  I think the addition of holding space is messing up the order on you.  By pressing Ctrl + space, you are calling command completion, and since there is no command you are trying to complete it is moving the cursor back in front of the '+' in your example.

I've filed the SCR on this.  Thanks for letting us know.

What mode were you in?  I just tried Worksheet and Document modes for both 12.02 & 13.0 and had no problems.

Due to some tracking issues, the first quarter winner will be announced next week.

In an effort to manage the site, members flag posts for the admin to look at (usually when there are double posts, or when threads go off topic).  These threads are then deleted or moved into new threads.  More often than not, when a thread is deleted there are no replies to them (members in this community are good at noticing double posts and replying to only one of them).  When I move a thread, my intent is to move it and have the original poster retain the authoring status for the post.  If I have moved a post and did not credit the post to a user, let me know and I will update the post.

As for the points...don't worry, I'm not eligible to win any of the prizes.

You can also access all Maple and MapleSim help pages online.

From the application's page, under Toolkit press Download Maple Document.

The install directory is the directory that you installed Maple in.  If you installed Maple in the default directory, it would most likely be in C:\Program Files\Maple 12.

If you want to save the file somewhere else, the easiest way to do it is to just type Export (R) where R is the matrix you would like to export.  A pop up window will appear and you can just point and click your way through the rest.  If you want to define it all in one line, you can do something like this Export(R, "C:/Documents and Settings/username/Desktop/test.xls")

We are currently in the process of chaning the format for this year.  We will no longer be doing monthly or yearly winners, but we will still be doing quarterly ones.
