Thanks a lot. I works quite fast. Since my maple knownledge is quite limited could you help me with the following task: I want orange when the data value is 1 I want red when the data value is 2 I want yellow when the data value is 3 I want white when the data value is 4 Thanks a lot in advance!

Thanks a lot I tried to implement it but when I type in > max(%); Error, (in simpl/max) arguments must be of type algebraic Do you know why? ( I wrote it like you: Statistics:-Sample(Normal(mu,sigma),trunc(1.1*N))[1..N]); Is the sign after statitistics a : and a .? And I don´t understand the command in detail. How does it function? What is trunc? What is [1..N| for? And how can I see all generated values? Thankx a lot in advance!!!!!

Yes Thanks. The problem I mentioned is under Nr.1 When I take a big sigma I also get negative numbers. But I only want the positive one Nr.2 I want to look at the intervall (mu minus 3sigma and mu plus 3sigma)
