I run Maple11 on a Kubuntu Hardy Heron system that uses CUPS printing and printing generally works, even for Gnome apps.

I Googled and found that others had the same problem with Maple11 and there was a reference to this:

http://www.cups.org/articles.php?L433+I0+TFAQ+P1+Q

I followed the advice to make a /etc/cups/client.conf file and add the line ServerName=localhost to that file and to also export the environment variable

CUPS_SERVER=localhost

I restarted Maple and when I try to print, I no longer get the error message from Maple about not finding the print service but the printer still does nothing.

From what I read, this is actually a problem with JAVA and not with Maple.  Does anyone know how I can get printing to work in Maple?  I would have to have to install Maple on the Billygates OS just to get printing working.

thanks
