MaplePrimes Suggestions

Have a problem with MaplePrimes? Want to suggest a possible improvement to the site? Please post it here.
Why is it not possible to edit the root-post of a thread before anyone has replied to it? I ask, of course, because sometimes, despite proofreading, I overlook typos or bad grammar (being Danish, the latter is quite often a bit difficult to avoid), or because I simply want to add additional material that comes to mind after having posted.
In the column "Replies" of "all recent posts" it is indicated whether there have been submitted new posts to the topic since the last login/visit. Could such a thing be implemented also for the "my recent posts"? If affirmative, I think it would make it easier not to overlook any post which needed ones attention.
Yesterday I was astonished to discover that the information in the fields "About Me" and "Contact and Profile Information" had vanished, or, more precisely, had been rolled back to some older version. Naturally, since then I've tried to remedy that by reentering the newest version (remembering, of course, to click the submit button), but to no avail, or, more precisely: it works fine as long as I do not log out; after logging in again the information have gone to the 'eternal cyberspace fields of lost bits and bytes'. Have anyone else experienced the same odd behaviour? I should say that I have also tried to hit the refresh button (F5) of my browser, and tried erasing all temporary- and offline files, but also to no avail.
Hi guys, when browsing very long discussion threads, it would be nice to have a button or link that quickly moves to the top of the page. Currently I have to use the vertical scroll bar or mouse wheel. Sorry if this has been suggested before (I didn't follow this forum closely). Thank you!
Should this post be allowed in this forum?
A quick question about sending a blog entry to someone by e-mail via the "Email this blog" button: I almost missed the box to enter the e-mail addresses. I never expected this box to have all of the buttons for typesetting HTML or to upload/use file or worksheet. Shouldn't this field should just be a simple textbox? Doug
In writing codes how can we reduce the CPU comutation time spent for e.g. finding a large Determinant of order 15*15(or even more) of 2 or 3parameters.puting it to zero and solving it for one of the parameters? suppose I have a Matrix of 3 parameters(a,b,c) named M, with(LinearAlgebra): N:=Determinant(M); solve(N=0,a); Here what shall I do for reducing the CPU spent time?
I have just noticed that user _JZlV_BjwBOR has just rocketted up the charts (with 39 points from 13 blog posts). Curious, since I did not remember seeing any such posts, I look at this user's blog and it is empty. What gives?
Hi, When I click on the link titled 'here' in "Post a new comment" -> "Input Format" -> "Filtered HTML" -> "Allows use of and tags to enter 2D math here for help", I get a blank page http://www.mapleprimes.com/node/add/about/posting/math Does anyone know where I could get the relevant information? TIA, -- Jean-Marc
When I click on the "buttons" titled "About" or "Help" (on the top-right part of MaplePrimes pages), I get the following error message: "Access Denied Sorry, it looks like you do not have sufficient permissions to access this page [...]" Can someone else access the required pages or is it just me (something wrong with my account, perhaps)? (I use Firefox 2.0, Windows XP SP2, and I was logged into my MaplePrimes account when I tried.) Regards, -- Jean-Marc
How can I use an 'if clause function' in a summation? Suppose we have codes as follows: > Q[0]:=[0,0]:Q[1]:=[1,0]: > len:=A->sqrt(A[1]^2+A[2]^2): > kappa:=proc(y) local h;h:=[0,0];if y=h then 5; else 1/len(y);fi;end; > s:=R->sum(kappa(R-Q[n])*e(Q[n]),n=0..1): > s([1,0]); Error, (in NumericRange) summand is singular in the interval of summation It seems that when kappa comes into a summation form, it couldn't run the 'if clause'. What is my error in writing these codes?
It's unfortunate, how the "Recent Comments" summary is now so far down the right hand side column that it isn't visible without scrolling down.

Is there any way to customize it (when logged in, say), to get the more interesting content right up at the top where one can see the summaries without having to scroll down?

MaplePrimes seems to have a problem with <maple> tags for modules. When I wrap the tags around Statistics:-ErrorPlot(a,b) the “Statistics:-” gets elided.
The last comment on this thread Singular Planet needs to be removed. This is Spam and does not belong here. Just thought I would point it out because sometimes things like this get missed. Regards, Georgios Kokovidis

This is not so much a suggestion (I'm not sure if you should change it) but edited blog posts are booted off the front page. I edit sentence missing words and poor grammar and now it gone :)
