That worked. Thank you, jakubi.

Your suggestion works. Thank you. I am amazed that you could figure out this complicated key squence to enter a subscript for a subscripted name or variable.  Somehow I think Maple should make this oftenly used feature simpler. As complicated as it is, I will live with my pain and continue to use the palette.

Your comment is well heard.

But I think Document Mode vs. Worksheet Mode would be analogus to the situation of Windows vs. DOS.  Document will have more users than Worksheet down the road.

I am using Maple 10.

The problem is that I can't get out of the block. The cursor will not go any further to the right. I used arrow, space bar, or mouse. And also in combinations with F5.

However the 2nd line, sin(x),  will work.

I suspect this is a bug.

Thank you for the answers and suggestions.

Hi Mario,

Do you have a check mark at the "Inline Document Output" line in the pull-down menu View? Mine does.

Hi Scott,

I did not see a cursor surrounded by a dotted box. When I tried to enter text, the cursor is right after the last digit 7, on the same line as the output.  When you say you got a "Document Block", is that "Block" on the next line or on the same line as the output line. I am trying to enter after the anwser in the same line as the output.

On a brand new Document Mode sheet, before I enter anything the cursor is a slanted blinking veritcal line. After I entered sin(4.5) and ctrl+=, the output are the blue digits -.9775301777. The cursor is to the right of the last 7 and its character style is "Math" and "C 2D Output". Also if I hit F5, it does not switch to "Text" and "C Text". And I can not enter anything neither Math nor Text to the right of the output on the same line.

However the situation is different if enter sin(x) and ctrl+=. There I can enter either Math or Text right after the output on the same line.
