But generally, my desire of using maple is to be able to simplify some of the complex expressions when I know that they should be simple. However, I've tried several times till now with no luck.

Thanks for the reply. Initializing the matrix works, although I made it a global variable by putting it outside the procedure. Then I could convert the matrix into matlab formats and copy them to matlab. But still I wonder if there is a better way since I have to repeat the copy and paste manually for tens of times.
