Installing 9.03 patch over the CD Maple 9.01 version (Win XP SP2, 2GB RAM) I have met, apparently, the same java-RAM problem (Standard does not start) that this CD version has before replacing maplew9.exe with the version of the FAQ area of Maplesoft site. But this maplew9.exe replacement does not patch the patch. So, I wonder whether there is a solution for 9.03 or I should turn back to 9.01.
I have met several problems trying to install and execute Maple on Fedora Core 4. I begin with Maple 10. Default GUI installation does not work: ============== [root@localhost cdrecorder]# ./installMapleLinuxSU Preparing to install... Extracting the JRE from the installer archive... Unpacking the JRE... Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive... Configuring the installer for this system's environment... awk: cmd. line:6: warning: escape sequence `\.' treated as plain `.' Launching installer... Invocation of this Java Application has caused an InvocationTargetException. This application will now exit. (LAX)
In a new PC with a nVidia graphics card under Win XP Pro I have found that
plots, using the Classic interface (Maple 8 included), show a cyan background
by default, instead of white. Default means PlotBGColor=default or 255 255 255
in maple10.ini.

Clicking with the mouse on the plot turns the background white, both for
inline and window output, but e.g. using the window output, and pressing the right
arrow turns the background cyan again.

On the other hand, plot background in Standard interface shows white.

I have not realized of any other application showing this problem.
Any idea on its origin?
Could you add the option to attach files to reply messages? Currently it is possible only for the initial message of the thread.
Forum pages do not seem to have a printer-friendly version option as the Maple FAQ section pages. Is it possible to add it? Alejandro
