Thanks for the suggestion, but it did not work. This "ecslider17" is some internal component name, not the name I assigned to the component. Even if I have slider named "Slider0", maplenet still calls it "ecslider_something" and produces exactly the same error message.

This is exactly what I was looking for, but somehow I missed the relevant portion of maple help (I really did look there first :-) )
