Thank you for the reply. Now I see what was wrong, and I know how to make my code work. However, I am surprised that such a standard object as "Vector" has such a huge limitation.

It is fair to say that at "?Vector" (at the very end) the following note appears

"Vectors do not have last name evaluation."

however, I would recommend giving a clear example and stating this limitation explicitly.

I have a question:

Is there an object like the old "vector" that supports "last name evaluation" and that is not depreciated?
