@Carl Hickman

Dear Carl,

Thank you very much.

Most of these questions I make in my free time. During work there is almost no time for it. Nevertheless I think it is important otherwise we can no longer challenge our students. So I stick to the basics. If the Q works I go to the next. Your code is a good help for more structure. Thanks!!

The code below I do use a lot but never would have had the time to figure out myself:

$datay=maple("randomize():A:=Statistics[RandomVariable](Normal($avgy,$stdevy)):evalf(convert(Statistics[Sample](A,24),list),4)");

Sincerely Nico

Dear Carl,

Thanks for assisting. Incuded is the question. The question itself works, however I do not get the MLE part working.

@kat05

Thanks,

What I am looking for is a MLE function for the given data. The fit function in Maple does work. However it might be less accurate for log() near zero and infinity. The MLE handles this without problems in R. It should be possible in mapleTA as well, but how?

Best regards,

Nico
