I'm afraid that I'm still having problem understanding you,what do you mean exactly by 'rate of deceleration'?The problem states it clearly that deceleration is constant,i.e. not dependent on time.

Do you have a clear  equation that involving the 2 variables (x-axis variable,called independent variable &  y-axis variable,called dependent variable)?

Could you pls  make  this question more clear?

Graph of what vs what?Graph of velocity vs time or displacement vs time or acceleration vs time or something else?

And please enlarge the font of the given problem.

The interesting thing is

 f(-0.4533976515)=0

 f(-0.4533976516)=0

 f(-0.4533976517)=0

It seems that Maple can't distinguish these points from one another,it's odd.Same thing with the plot.

Where is the upper limit of the x-interval?(0≤x<≤?).

In my WS I gave it 1 for plotting.

@Kamel

My humble opinion is- A transcendental eqn is too "transcendental" to have a "simple" series-solution.But  the definition of "simple" is relative,your "simple" and my "simple" don't have to be the same.

I just think that life can be made easier with assigning variables.But again it's just an opinion.

Thanks very much.

Thanks very much.

Thanks.Could you please explain the code for me?Also,"NumericalAnalysis" is not a command in the Student package in my Maple version,it creates an error message.In Ly you wrote i^2,doesn't that mean,you can see the pattern?,but what if the function is clue-less?I'm not very familiar with the packages which does numerical analysis.

@Preben Alsholm

Almost right.I need to simulate a condensed matter physical process & this is just a small part of my original problem,also my function isn't this simple.

Do you have a solution?

Thanks to DuncanA & Alec Mihailovs.These are exactly what I wanted.

I have one Q. for Alec,what does this operation mean:

f:=m->(i,j)->somefunction of m,i & j?

Why f:=(m,i,j)->somefunc of m,i,j doesn't work?
