Done.  Here's my worksheet.  The equation I am referrring to is called ExpandedEqn5 in the worksheet.  It is here I would like to separate collect into p and q as described in my first post.

That's exactly what I get.  Is there any way to take the derviavtive with respect to the conjugate of z?

f(z,conjugate(z)) = z + conjugate(z)^2;

It makes sense to take a partial with respect to conjugate(z).  How can I do such things in Maple?
