   Many many thanks for both of you. I defined the number of points as Alec suggested and it worked all right. I have no idea why it didn't work with my maple 11. It looks perfect with yours. I copied your command

plots[semilogplot](sin(ln(x)),x=0.1e-7 .. 10);

It just didn't come out as the graph you posted here.  Maybe I was using Mac? I don't know but that sounds unlikely. Thanks again.

    Thank you very much for your quick respond. I tried with your suggestion. Unforunately the first point is at x=1e-7, then the next point is at x=0.01. I am using Maple 11. I don't know if that will make a difference. Thanks.
