MaplePrimes Suggestions

Have a problem with MaplePrimes? Want to suggest a possible improvement to the site? Please post it here.
Is there a feature that lets you know if and how many times an uploaded file was viewed, and downloaded by mapleprimes members ? I just personally would like to know how useful my blogs and postings are. (Vanity, I guess. :->). Also, on my last blog dealing with algebraic cryptography, after posting the maple worksheet I did not get the option of having being viewable on maplenet. The only option that was given was to download the actual maple worksheet. Can someone please look into this ? v/r,
This is a request for the moderators/administrators. Is it possible for the administrators, or some responsible member of mapleprimes to issue periodic mathematical competitions ? Their relevance, and or dependence on Maple use is of no issue to me, and likewise for any rewards for the winners. My reason for asking is because I think it would help not just the participants, but everyone on mapleprimes to learn more about Maple. If I'm not mistaken, I think the makers of Matlab do something similar to this. v/r,
I'm checking to see if this problem is still being worked on. At times I find that the reply box is shifted to the far right of the screen, sometimes cutting off any text that is typed in that area. I also posted an earlier complaint about this same problem. v/r,
The input box for the email reply box is too short, either 4 or 5 lines. Consider increasing it to something reasonable.
Why not create a bug forum on here?

Maplesoft might automate a process to add a comment to posts made in such a forum, whenever the status of the bug was changed (in whichever internal database is used to manage bugs).

I have long suspected that software users do not usually submit their bugs, and that they could do with some encouragement.

Using Safari (browser on Mac), when I click "Post new forum topic" I get this... Click to see the image... The text box where the text should be entered is too far to the right, partly covered by other stuff... Slightly inconvenient for typing a message there.

Quite a few of the polls on mapleprimes ask the reader a question whose answer describes something about themselves or their behaviour.

It would be refreshing to see more polls which ask the reader to give an opinion. Such an opinion, or question, might relate to future aspects of Maple.

One of the few prior polls like this was about where Maplesoft ought to devote its focus (graphics, algorithmic development, document preparation etc).

It would be nice to see more polls like that. The question could be simple and all on one narrow topic, such as the default value for Heaviside(0). Or the question could involve many areas, asking which one of 6-10 or so more specific areas for improvement would be best for maple (eg, Std GUI code editor, full IDE, more use of parallel kernel, etc, etc).
I have a question regarding privacy with respect to uploaded files on mapleprimes. It has to deal with where public worksheets are downloaded from. I upload all of my worksheets as public files to ensure the quickest and greatest amount of help to my requests. However, my question is when those public worksheets are downloaded are they actually downloaded from the actual creator's machine (e.g. C: mydocuments...etc), or from somewhere else ? hope that question came across clear. v/r,
To listen to my own advice, here is a use case: I use 'recent posts' navigation a lot (thanks). Sometimes I read a post to which I want to reply, but I don't have the time to do that right now, but when I do have the time, I have forgotten which post that was. Actually, I can think of 3-4 such posts right now... So I would like to be able to 'mark' a post, so that I can come back to it later. Sure, I could use my browser's bookmarks to do that, but they are already a mess as it is. I think it would make more sense to keep mapleprimes-specific things in/on mapleprimes.
Has it ever been considered to have some sort of Maple specific publication in connection with mapleprimes ? Some sort of refereed or peer reviewed publication available to the public or mapleprimes/maplesoft, that members of either of these entities can publish to. Even if it's only available online. was just wondering. v/r,
My last post that I typed in the how do I with maple forum, was cut off after I posted it. can someone take a look at this ? Tedious typing the samething more than once. I'm also having a problem again with the misalignment of the text box for replies to postings. It gets shifted far to the right of the screen. v/r,
I did not see an official policy about asking homework questions on MaplePrimes (at least a search for 'homework' did not turn up anything relevant). A number of other sites and mailing lists which I am on have such policies. A particularly like the policy from the Haskell-cafe list. It strikes an excellent middle-ground between being helpful and active participation in academic dishonesty.
what about connections between mapleprimes and comp.soft-sys.math.maple ? is it possible to build a "bridge" bewteen them? for instance a "forum" in mapleprimes which will recieve all comp.soft-sys.math.maple posts, or a link to open it into the mapleprimes central frame. we could use the google interface? it will be easier to have only one place to concentrate all informations about maple... comp.soft-sys.math.maple
The left hand navigation bar calls it High Performance Maple Programming Techniques but the book itself is (now) called Tools of the Maple Masters.
It took me forever to find which tags were allowed. Why? because, silly me, I searched for it. And there is no page that has that information on it. Or, to be more precise, pretty much every page has that information in it, in the JavaScript region at the bottom of the input box. It is also interesting to note that the tags listed there do not include 'blockquote', and yet the toolbar does.
