MaplePrimes Activity

These are replies submitted by Christopher2222

Add stickies (suggested by Hirnyk in a recent post) or create a new forum category (getting started or something similar)

Allow to sort all questions/posts by original posted date

Update site for sublevel viewing under recent listing tab.  Currently we have one gigantic list of everything complied into one under the recent tab, there is no separations, could we develop some sort of a tree structure there?

I'll also take the opportunity here to suggest again a mapleprimes news section.

If I am not mistaken, I recall someone ( I think maybe Robert Israel?) created a worksheet with all the graphics shown in the article referenced by Hirnyk.  I believe it was created in a seperate post.

Can anyone find it?  or am I mistaken?

In a most recent question about mean value of time.  It looks as if a partial implementation of my suggestion above has one thumb up on the original poster applies 1 thumbs up to everyone below.  Perhaps it's not working right yet.  If this is not at all tied into my suggestion then forgive me and disregard my comment.

Although I'm not too fond of the point system I do have a couple of suggestions.

Perhaps 1 point could be alloted to anyone posting a question or post.

Also if the original poster or questioner should get a thumbs up then everyone below already in the thread would be given one extra point.

With FIFA womens is just around the corner I thought I would revive this thread.  Although not as big as the mens FIFA it does help the craving for world cup soccer.

@Paul thanks Paul.  How about any bug fixes in Maple in general?

I notice that the improvements were to tools supporting multi-process programming which may, or may not, include bug fixes in that area. Are there any bug fixes you can comment on for this update?

Thanks Alec.  The Sockets:-GetProcessID() works nice.  Unfortunately the tasklist you mention also belongs to Windows 7 and not applicable for Windows XP users even though both are listed under Windows XP in the help directory on the microsoft site.

All of the mservers have different PIDs.  As do the maple.exe processes, but those I can not determine.

As for my other inquiry to opening another/new worksheet.  Well it's not acutally a new worksheet, you have to have an existing one already saved.  But if you open a new one and save it with nothing in it, it is practically a new worksheet.

INTERFACE_WORKSHEET(display,file="c:test.mw")   #opens an already saved worksheet test.mw in another tab.

now the other half of my workaround was to close the individual worksheet window which we just left and that, I think, is where we will be stuck.  We can close maple no problem

Unfortunately INTERFACE_WORKSHEET command does not exist in Maple help anywhere, nor did I find google much help either.  Any commands useful that can be used with INTERFACE_WORKSHEET remain quite hidden.  I'm sure there is a simple command in the INTERFACE_WORKSHEET that should allow closing a worksheet window.  But failing that ...

Again I have thought of an alternative to my workaround and that is to open another Maple version and terminate the previous maple.exe pid file however again another snag, the snag I had come up there is determining maple.exe PIDs as I mentioned above.

hmm, the pictures weren't showing so I decide to add a comment to comment about it and now I see the pictures are there.  Thought I was oging to have to reload the pics?  Seems okay now though.

I always thought we were called mapleprimers but, maple users seems to be the best name for us.  As to describe us without the actual use of the word user, maybe mapleprimers is the alternate option?  Maybe in the update he meant mapleprimers.  I also wondered what they called the guys on the mathematica or matlab forums.  Matlabers? (sounds like a type of dog) and I can't think of one for mathematica outside of using the word "user" attached to the end.

@Joe Riel So I'm not sure how to set up the equtions and ibc's.  Say after 300s how would we do it?

Sorry to hear you won't be getting your down thumb badge, perhaps the administrators could honor it to you anyway.  I, for one, am glad to see the down thumb votes finally gone.  Ironically does the down thumb vote actually add a thumbs down to your favorites?  That would be funny.

It also appears the spam has stopped (yay .. a brief celebration ensues).  So there are two apparent silent fixes, NICE!  And the new mapleprimes news brief section should tell us what's going on ... when it's added.
