Cool!  Great to see Maple utilizing multi cores.  What about Maple's advances towards accessing the millions of processors on a graphics card?

Sounds like once a user is already logged in, the cookies on the users end enable him to post regardless of what rules are applied on the forum end.

I wonder if it has something to do with the keep me logged in rule and unless the user deletes his cookies ... the cbc website allows users to stay logged in for 2 weeks at a time.  Perhaps here in this case users should be timed out then locked out.

Also hopefully posts will be resorted after the spam has been taken care of.

Some of the software is quite intelligent.  They offer options to ignore information from another sites address (it is part of a rules option you set up in the software) There are options to how many levels deep you want to save (that is click an item - go to that page - click again - go to another page) usually more than 3 deep becomes an enormously large file.  You must also limit your connection rate so as not to bog the server down (very important).  One other importance is that it can't just be done haphazardly, hopefully one would carry out proper usage of the software for a site so as not to interrupt the usage of the site for other members.   Not to mention the software takes a long time.  I'm sure most people here would use such software in a respectable manner.

That being said, it's not the most efficient way to do such things.  I would hope some other offline way could be presented to maple users somehow like my dvd idea I had mentioned earlier.

Thank you.  Very much appreciated!

@alex_01  Thanks, I appreciate the compliments.  Hopefully I should produce some more creative works with Maple soon.

Ah yes, Maple Vr3 was my first copy of Maple.  I glance up to my shelf above the computer and there it sits in great condition still with it's original boxing on my shelf above the computer where a reciept inside tells me I bought it at the UoW computer store in 1994 for a cool total price with tax for $143.75.  Using an inflation calculator that $143.75 works out to roughly $198.79 in 2011 dollars.

Not too far off from a personal edition of Maple which I think sells for $239.  However if you were a student you would be getting quite a bit more bang for your buck by 1994 comparison standards.

Yes sorry that is the correct link www.dpmap.co.uk , thanks Robert, go to additional maps to get to the download page on the website I described.

Or go here the full address provided http://www.dmap.co.uk/getllbdy.htm where you will find the files available.

Nice work acer.  I've located a more useful set of longitude latitude datasets www.dpmap.co.uk , the self extracting files produce *.bdy files containing segment data, the difference for these sets is that the groups are separated into much larger more useful segments.  Data seperated by -1 in segments that go from border to border rather than the smaller segments extracted from the coastline extractor.

Interesting concept about software loosing sales because of the lack of up to date books.  In my opinion Maple is releasing new software fairly quickly now (1 new release per year) thus by the time someone starts working on a book and readies it for publishing it's already out of date by 1 or 2 versions.  The only people who can produce a book fast enough are the people well educated in Maple's software however they may be more busy playing around and figuring out the new versions (the other most likely people planning a book would most likely be working at maplesoft and in my guess either working on a new version or busy trying to get new bugs out of the software).  I know software companies work at a breakneck speed trying to get a new features out before the other guy, but in doing so inject new problems.  I much prefer a couple of years between new releases, it gives the company more time to build a solid base and more time to work out the bugs.  Most M software now, I think, has adapted to a new release per year concept with 1 maybe 2 updates.

Also both Matlab and Mathematica are much larger companies and have a much higher customer base ... just a thought but I wonder if the number of books is proportional to the size of the companies?

As for finding Maple books, the Maplesoft website http://www.maplesoft.com/books/index.aspx is the best place to look, not google.  But if you're looking to borrow and not buy Maple books, public libraries are far and few in between(in fact I found only one where I live), University libraries are your best bet in that case.

Will there be any improvements to the speed of this forum?  It still feels very klunky as compared to the older coding of mapleprimes I.

If I try to open two or three or more mapleprimes questions all in new windows it takes a longer time to load the pages than if I open the questions sequentially.

Nice to hear about the improvements.  Is there an interest in adding a small box to show who's logged in?  Maybe not even a box just a simple couple of ascii lines?

As an example of what I had in mind

Maplets are confusing.  Hasn't anyone got any ideas?  Perhaps this is an area few people dare to venture.
